Undergraduate Women

Meet the current members!
The Undergraduate Women's Advisory Board (UWAB) is comprised of a group of women devoted to fulfilling the Women@CC mission: "Welcoming, Supporting, and Celebrating Women in Computing at Georgia Tech," by developing community-building events. UWAB meets once a week fall and spring semesters to plan and discusses our events for the year. Our flagship events include CoCaesar's Palace (the annual College of Computing casino night) and hosting women that have been accepted into the College of Computing.

If you are interested in participating in UWAB, go ahead and send us your email so that you can deliberate with us on a good meeting time. All undergraduate women are invited to join us! For more information, please email uwomen@cc.gatech.edu.

Current Leaders

Alissa Hartenbaum, Co-Chair
Alissa is a 2nd year Computational Media (CM) major interested in the gaming industry. Alissa has held the position of Co-Chair since her second semester at Georgia Tech and has proven herself to be a capable leader. She loves the variety of Women@CC events and the kind-hearted community of the club members. This semester she is interested in fostering more bonding between the women in computing through topic-based open discussions at the weekly meetings.

Kaitlin Powell, Co-Chair
Kaitlin is a 2nd year Computer Science (CS) major (though she is a 3rd year based on credits) and has found W@CC a welcoming group of women to become a part of. Familiar with the workings of W@CC by previously acting as Treasurer, she is solid and dedicated to the group.

Jennifer Yim, Secretary
Jennifer is a 1st year CS major here at Georgia Tech. She quickly grew to like W@CC as a freshman and is excited to be able to hold a position and be a more active member of the group.

Sierra Brader, Treasurer
Sierra is a 1st year CS major here at Tech. Her selected threads are Intelligence and Information Internetworks. She also found W@CC to be friendly and inviting, and was eager to give more to the organization.

Kateri Sheppard, Co-Webmaster
Kateri is a 2nd year CS major, with Information Internetworks and People as her threads. As a new freshman, she loved W@CC and the opporunity it presented of connecting with other women in CS. She was eager to get a role that would allow her to do more within the group, and is happy to be able to use and build on previous coding experience to create and update a brand new website.

Maureen Basil, Co-Webmaster
